Terracotta army
Basic Information:
1) The terracotta army is an army that the first Chinese emperor (Qin Shi Huangdi) wanted built because when he died he believed that they would protect him in the afterlife and all eternity.
2) The terracotta army was built because Qin Shi Huangdi wanted the models to protect him in the afterlife and also to fight with anyone who entered the emperors tomb.
3) You can find the terracotta army in China. When you go to China you enter a museum and then you will find the terracotta army models in a room.
Who and when were they discovered?
1) The Terracotta army was discovered by a group of farmers when they were digging a well. They noticed that something was there and then contacted people to come and find out what the mysterious models were.
2) The Terracotta army was discovered in the year 1974 when the group of farmers were digging a well.
3) The Terracotta army was moved into many museums around the world after they were discovered by a group of farmers that had accidentally discovered the army models.
Describe the similarity between the Chinese belief of immortality and the Egyptian belief of the afterlife.
1) The Chinese citizens believed in immortality. Immortality is the ability to life forever; eternal life. The Chinese citizens believed that they would live forever.
2) The Egyptian citizens believed in the afterlife. Afterlife is life after death. The Egyptian citizens believed that after they die they would have another life. Some Egyptians described the afterlife as a second life or a second chance to live.
3) Both the Ancient Chinese and Ancient Egyptians believed that no matter what happened that they would live forever. They both believed that they would exist in the future and both also believed that is they put things in their tombs it would be with them in the afterlife.
What would you find in the mausoleum if you went there?
1) Vault one is one of the most prestigious and precious vault out of all three of them. It is the size of an airplane hangar. It contains over 6,000 figures of soldiers and horses, but less than 2,000 are on display to people. All of the best Terra-cotta pictures were taken in vault one.
2) In vault two there is features of intriguing battle positions of kneeling and standing archers, chariot war arrays, a calvary and an infantry array.
3) In vault three is the smallest of all of the vaults. There are only 68 Terra-cotta figures in there and many of them do not have heads on their shoulders. vault three represents the command post bevause all of its figures are officials.
